A great little tool for electricians to feed cables through walls.

Every Electrician should have one of these in their tool box. I personally use good old cable rods but I may be persuaded to make the change!

Although a bit of tape has always done the trick for me.

I found a great squidoo lens.

I found this great squidoo lens today, it looks like valuable information for anyone looking for a domestic electrician or an electrical contractor.....

Take a look....

Something tells me these are already decided.

It looks like the first amendment to BS 7671:2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations may be published on the 1st July 2011 and looks like it will come into force on the 1st January 2012, This does not come as a surprise to me, and I am sure other electricians will also not be surprised!

The IET prepares regulations for the safety of electrical installations for buildings, the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) now having become the standard for the UK and many other countries.

Obtaining a good domestic electrician quote.

If you have an electrical problem at your residence, it’s a good idea that you seek out assistance from a professional. Only a qualified domestic electrician should work on any electrical faults in your home.

It’s very important that you receive a written estimate for the work on your home. Written estimates are seen as binding. It is important that you get one because this will be your form of proof against what work is being carried out.

A good electrician must have a website, so that you are able to read up about their mission statement, and perhaps even some client testimonials.

A great electrician will allow you to ask questions concerning the quote, so that you will feel comfortable with the work that is going to be conducted. Luckily, it shouldn’t be too complicated, and if there IS anything you do not understand, you can ask the electrician or consult the internet for help.

Green Economy

Domestic Electricians expand into Microgeneration

A fast growing number of people are investing in our green economy by studying energy efficiency(2,679), conservation (619) and environmental studies (556), with qualifications in areas such as installing solar panels and domestic micro wind turbines.

With this fast growing number of people now training and developing their skills, And our governing bodies who have now set up training courses and update courses for our already very competent people, We should hopefully see more interest and investment into microgeneration technologies.
